Does Recurring Loud Noise Damage Hearing?

Yes please. I work with children who have moderate to severe disabilities ranging from autism , downs Sydrome etc. A 13 year boy i work with screams extremely loud sometimes for hours at such a piercing level. I feel the scream goes right through my body, but in particular my ears seem to pop. its so bad & unbearable. I have taken to wearing ear plugs, however this is not practical all time. Will this damage my hearing ? thank you and do you have any other suggestions.
