Does Nausea, Indigestion, Multiple Bowel Movements Indicate Food Poisoning?

I'm nauseous and I'm not entirely sure if it's food poisoning or just indigestion. I ate leftovers a couple hours ago. It was cooked lamb I got at a restaurant 2 days ago. I kept it refrigerated. But now 2 hours later I feel nauseous and I've had multiple bowl movements. My question is, if it's just indigestion, can I take pepto bismol to relieve the nausea? If it's food poisoning, will pepto bismol help?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are experiencing nausea and diarrhoea , then it is likely that you have gastroenteritis.

This can be due to viral or bacterial infection. It is normally self limited, lasting only a few days.
You may want to consider avoiding solid food for the next 4 to 6 hours and concentrate on maintaining fluid volume.

The use of probiotics can help shorten the course of the illness.

After the 4 to 6 hours have passed, if the symptoms are reducing, you can try small amounts of dry food.

I hope this helps
