Does Nasal Congestion Require Medical Treatment Despite The Usage Of Nasal Sprays?

My husband is 58 and is having these symptoms , nasal congestion when causes him to panic, feeling very anxious, paces the house and must get outside. He has been having difficulty in sleeping through the night and wakes up several times and must get out of the bedroom and go outside. He has tried nasal sprays to help with the congestion but I am not 100% sure that is the problem.

dear user

about your question i would like to tell you that these symptoms you mentioned refer mainly to have sinus infection bacterial or allergy that enhance mucus production and nasal congestion.....also there is possibility of having other problems of nose that need investigation and clinical examination like deviated nasal septum.....your husband feeling of these symptoms should not make you worry but you should see wnt doctor for examination.....the common cause of that is allergy to odours or smoking that increase histamine production and causes congestion of the nose.......also having sinusitis infection may lead to that wspecially if he had mild fever or had common cold infection ......he can use saline to gargle his nose and can use saline drops.....nasal spray that he used may have no effect as the cause of that not detected or treated .....as if he has sinus infection he should administrate antibiotics to role out this infection like amoxicillin......also helpful medications such as prednisolone will help improvent alot..... about what to do that you should first refer to ent doctor to examine his nose and he may need to do x ray as investigative ........he should be away from stress and anxiety and spicy foods because these will get symptoms worse.......he should also drink alot of warm fluids that will make you better ... getting away from smoking or area of smokers and odours is very important ....some times we require nasal swab for investigation if symptoms get worse but now you not need that................wish you and him healthy life
