Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Mild Mucosal Thickening In Bilateral Maxillary Sinuses Cause Vertigo?
i ve severe vertigo since the past three years. it occur whenever i underwent stress and sometimes with my sleeping psoition. so i underwent an MRI scan as per the suggestion of a family doctor. the report is normal. it s wriiten that minimal mucosal thikening in bilateral maxillary sinuses. does this cause vertigo or shall i go for anyother checkup?
I can understand your concern. Vertigo can be related to ear infection, head and neck injury or nerve problems. However, it has not been found to have relation with bimaxillary sinus thickness or any other sinus related problems.
Thinking of sinus can cause congestion, heaviness, problems will sensation of smell, pain in upper teeth etc.
Thus, I would advise you to visit an ENT specialist for looking for reasons in the ear and neck area that may be responsible for vertigo.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
