Does Medication Prescribed For Strep Throat Cause Missing Or Delay In Periods?

i HAVE STREP THROAT. THE DOCTOR PUT ME ON AMOXOCILIN. i HAVE BEEN TAKING COLD MEDICINE AND THROAT SPRAY ALSO. I SHOULD BE STARTING MY PERIOD ANY DAY NOW. JUST CURIOUS IF ALL THIS MEDICINE CAN CAUSE ME TO MISS MY PERIOD ALL TOGETHER OR AT THE VERY LEAST DELAY IT. AND FOR HOW MANY DAYS?

Hi ,
amoxicilline acts upon mainly gram positive organisms like staphylococcus, streptococcus,.....etc. it does not have effect on menstrual cycle ( no studies ) and hence does not cause amenorrhoea or dysmenorrhoea .
So in my opinion complete the course of amoxicilline so that ur URTI is being treated without worrying .
