Does Low Iron And B12 Count Be The Cause For Weakness?

hello, I have a low iron & B 12 count plus i m taking feosol twice a day.... I just started a B- 12 supp & geritol liquid .. but for the past 3 wks now I haven t been feeling myself can it be that im low in both area ? and can I take the feosol 3x a day instead of 2x?

Hi, thanks for posting your concerns in the HCM.
1) Actually deficiency of both iron and Vit B12 would cause anemia and that can definitely be the reason behind symptoms.
Secondly, B12 deficiency causes neuropathies which is often reversible with supplements, can also cause. In both the cases supplements to treat the deficiency isthe ttreatment of choice.
2) You can take your iron supplement two times a day. But, a few precautions are to be maintained- avoid antacids, take the tablet 2 hrs post meal and have citrus fruits to improve absorption. Treatment should be continued for at least 6 months to replenish the body stores of iron.
