Does Intake Of High Doses Of Thyroxine Cause Any Adverse Effects?

hallo sir, i am 43 yrs of age, height 5.6 , i am suffering from hypothyroidism for the last 6 yrs. my doc has adviced me to take thyrox early morning hungry stomach. 125 mg n 150 mg alternative days. sir for the last 2 months i have been taking 300 mg, by mistake thinking that each tab is for 50 mg...but in actual each tab is of 100 mg... since i realised the mistake i am very worried. plz tell me if this over dose will have any serious effect on me.

Hello,
I have gone carefully through your concern and understood your query!
Taking too much thyroid hormone can cause iatrogenic hyperthyroidism that is manifested with : increase in heart rate, weight loss, sweating, diarrhea ect.
The most serious side effect is takikardia that you should have had.
Fortunately, the symptoms are reversible.
It will take 4 weeks to turn back at the previous situation.
