Does Intake Of Abortion Pills Cause Extremely Heavy Bleeding?
Hi Doctor I was 5 weeks pregnant...as ultrasound show me that... I have 1 yr baby ...now I can t continue my pregnancy...so I go to gyna ..she prescribed me mtp I had take 1pill orally nd last night 4 tablets intraviginally...I started bleeding after 5 hours...but it s heavy from. My normal menses...in 5-6 hours I changed 5 pads ...is it normal?
Hello dear Understand your concern Extremely heavy bleeding after abortion is not normal. Bleeding will occur after abortion but it just more than period. But some time excessive bleeding occur due to high sensitivity to misoprostol. As you used 5 pads in 5 hour, you should consult the gynecologist immediately and go for USG scan (to exclude ectopic pregnancy and arterial/venous bleeding) and vaginal examination. It should be treated by the tranexemic acid that reduce the bleeding and by D & C procedure that abort the pregnancy and then no chance of bleeding. If needed blood transfusion can be given to compensate the blood loss. Maintain pelvic hygiene and take helathy diet with iron supplements. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
