Does Chronic Tonsillitis Cause Painful Lumps In The Throat?
i am a 21 year old female. i have history of chronic tonsilittis with no recent attacks. for the past one week, i have had 2 palpable tender swellings on either side of my neck each, about 1X1cm just below the angle of my mandible. they are palpable pulsations over it and it pains on touch. the pain increases with activity and is lateralised to one side sometimes but is on both sides otherwise. the pain is a little restricting to the movements of the neck. no difficulty in deglutition or breathing. i ve not had similar complaints in the past.
Yes, tonsillitis may cause lymph-adenopathy. Now you are suffering from submandibular lymph-adenopathy. Don't worry, it will subside. Use tablet amoxicillin and clavulinic acid 625mg for five days. Use tablet paracetamol for five days.
Salt water gargling thrice a day for five days will be helpful. If symptoms have not improved, please consult with your ENT specialist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
