Does Methylcobalamin Have Any Adverse Side Effects?

My staff came in today with a flue. She told me that she accepted a vitamine that was given to her called methycobal but it did not make her feel better, worse actually. I have already explained to her not to accept a medicine from others. My question is what is this medicine normally used for and did it do any harm. Thank you
