Retrolisthesis is reverse slip of the upper vertebrae(means backward slip of the upper on lower) on the lower vertebrae. It is less common than forward slip or
spondylolisthesis.
If surgical correction is not an option, or not agreed on, then a spinal epidural can be given. This is done as a day case, under image intensifier control in the operating room, with the patient awake.
Results are variable: for some the pain relief is long lasting, while for others it can last for a few months. In my practice, results for 1-2 years are common. But the key to success is a good
physical therapy regimen concomitant with the injection. Loosing weight,
pelvic tilt exercises and muscle strengthening program are vital for a long lasting relief.
I hope this helps.
