Does Cymbalta Cause Stomach Upset Along With Sore Throat And Cough?

My 25 year old daughter has been ill for 4 days. She has had an upset stomach, especially after eating. Her bowel consistency has changed and a day after her stomach started bothering her, she came down with a bad cold. Mostly achy, tired, stomach discomfort, coughing, sore throat, congestion, sneezing and blowing her nose. She has been a smoker for about 5 years of both cigarettes and medical marijuana. She has severe scoliosis for which she has had 2 surgeries over the past 12 years. She has been taking Cymbalta for pain for about 6 years. Is this all related?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The stomach upset, especially after eating may be related to stomach ulcer, this can occur with Combylta. I would suggest, she should use some antacids, and Omerprazole for few days. Regarding the rest of the symptoms , it looks to be flu. So I would suggest you to take her to the doctor till that she can use Tylenol ( paracetamol) 3 to 4 times. Also anti-histamines are helpful in reducing the congestion and sneezing .
