Hello, I was prescribed Ciprodex by my ENT to help them with removal of what appears to be taffy like wax that is in my ear however after the second dose my ear is clogged and I have minimal hearing in the ear. I have only been on the medicine since Monday and am suppose to use it for 2 weeks and return to the doctor then. My question is, should my ear be clogged after using the medicine?
As per your query you have clogged ears since you start ciprodex prescribed by your doctor . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query . But in your case the symptoms are due to ciprodex as its one of the its effect . Sometimes ciprodex is known to cause side effects like ear congestion and ear discomfort .I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper evaluation of the condition and rule out condition like ear infection and eustachian tube dysfunction . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe some substitute . For now apply dry warm compresses on external ear .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
