In most cases of "pigeon chest" the patient does not have breathing issues. If yours has been corrected then you really shouldn't have breathing problems unless there is an underlying issue. Sometimes people with Pigeon Chest have genetic abnormalities which can cause problems with other organs. It is best for you to have some testing to be sure your lungs are normal. You may want a genetic evaluation. In addition, in my practice I would test the oxygen level with a finger monitor, and order a chest x-ray, pulmonary function test (breathing test), as well as a methacholine challenge test to rule out asthma and other underlying abnormalities of the lungs. If you are at risk for tuberculosis that is something you can be screened for by a simple skin test. Other causes of shortness of breath with exercise can be heart related, related to diabetes or to anemia. There are other possible causes as well. In other words in my opinion you should not have difficulty breathing with exercise and feel "dead exhausted" unless you are very out of shape and I think you need further testing. Be well.
