Do I Need To Wean Off From Omeprazole Inorder To Try Zypan Supplement?
I ve been taking omeprazole 20 mg for several years and before that Nexium both for a total of probably 30 years for GERD. I want to try a supplement - Zypan. Do I need to wean off omeprazole or can I just stop taking it? Since I ve been taking it for so many years, should I consult my PCP first?

welcome, lets take one by one, 1-capsule omeprazole & nexium(esomeprazole), are not advised more than 4 to 8 weeks,it may increase the risk of bone fracture specially hip,wrist,spine joints, 2-zypan is a pancreatic enzyme dietary supplement,you can take it but for not more than 4 to 8 weeks, consult your primary care physician, change your life style, take fresh fruits, avoid alcohol,smoking,cola,coffee,spicy & junk foods, do swimming,cycling,exercise regularly, take care.
