Din't Take The Pills Properly, Had Unprotected Sex. Now Seen Spotting In Dark Brown. Mentally Stressed. Is It Implantation Bleeding?
So, I accidently goofed up my birth control on the 3rd and 4th of july, I had otherwise unprotected sex both days. I am due to start my period in 5-7 days. Since yesterday I have had spotting that is dark brown and kind of stringy. Only when I wipe and just a little smear on a pad I've been wearing for a couple hours. Ive been going through an emotional breakup so I thought maybe just the stress caused this. But based on readings online, could I be having implantation bleeding. I never miss a b/c pill and am always on time of menstrual usually to the dot. never early never late and always the same. Please give me your opinion.
On regular taking of birth control pill, chance of pregnancy is negligible (less than 1%). But missed pill may cause pregnancy in fertile days.
In this scenario, I suggest to undergo one home pregnancy test at the earliest for checking pregnancy status. Blood test for beta-hCG & TVS scan is more confirmatory. Implantation bleeding is more commonly present with brown discharge.
Other reasons are hormonal imbalance, old endometrial tissue & clots, vaginal or pelvic infection, over wt etc.
Following initial test reports, you must consult with gynecologist for complete evaluation. Maintain genital hygiene properly.
Practice safe sex in future. Good luck.
