General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic disease of unknown cause and characterised by symmetric inflammatory poly arthritis and variuos extra articulate manifestations.
Because RA may lead to substantial long term disability, the current trend is to initiate treatment with newer immunomodulatory and immunosuppressive agents.
There are various other class of drugs called biologics, which though expensive can also be tried.
The best would be to consults rheumatologist and take treatment under his supervision as he would be the best person for such job
Thanks
