Diagnosed With Emphysema, X-ray Shows Patchy Shadows On Left Upper Lobe. Could It Be Immune Disorder ?

My daughter was diagnosed with emphysema last year. She has no cough, no sputum. She only has symptoms of fever, unwell that we took her to see doctor, checked Xray to see patchy shadows on the left upper lobe and also CT scan done with impression of prominent branching structure at left upper lobe, narrowed or occulded near the left perihilar region, can be due to abnormal vasculature or dilated fluid filled bronchi. Strange that the doctors could not find anything from bronchoscopy. It could be very deep that the bronchoscopy does not work. Everytime, doctor treated her with antibiotic and x ray reveals shadows not showing. But frequent fever came with shadows again. What could this be? Will VATS approach see anything which bronchoscopy cannot see? Could it be immune disorder? or allergic? Advice appreciated and thanks.

it it less likely to be an immune reaction or allergy....rather in emphysema lungs are prone to secondry bacterial infection...thats why your doughter got recurrant attacks of fever and patchy distribution of opacities on chest x-ray.....and always respond to antibiotics....
