Question: what does hila engorgement in lungs mean and is bronchovascular marking increased the same thing, i mean same terminology?

Hila prominence is mostly due to pathology in major bronchus, large pulmonary vessels and mediastinal Lymphnodes.
Prominent bronchovascular markings (BVMs) is mostly seen with bronchitis, interstitial lung disease, early heart failure etc.
Both can be seen together if
1. Patient is having COPD
2. Congestive heart failure
3. If chest x ray is taken in expiration phase.
