Diagnosed With Diabetes. History Of High Cholesterol, High BP And Overweight. Can Gastro Bypass Surgery Help In Losing Weight?
I am a 66 years old woman and have been diagnosed with Diabetics last year. In addition I am 30 ponds over weight, with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. All are hereditary. My BMI is 31. Losing weight is a tough battle and can never lose more than 2 to 3 ponds and as soon as I eat something I gain the weight. Will a gastro bypass surgery help taking into consideration all the other factors I have to deal with? and will the insurance pay for such a weigh loss surgery?

Gastro bypass surgery is not for disease in your case, rather it is type of a cosmetic surgery and as far known to me insurance companies will not pay for this .
However you can contact the agent of company for more detail.
High cholesterol and high & high Blood pressure is not good for you as you are already a diabetic patient.
Reduce weight , if possible by using orlistate 120 mg after consultation with a doctor.

gastro bypass wont be helpful in your case, it is for cosmetic reasons. plus there are chances of complication during surgery because of you high bp and cholestrol .. anaesthetic complication will be more during surgery..
i feel you should change diet and do exrcise, i know its difficult for you to reduce weight but that is the best way..
you can start statins for high cholestrol .. also consult physician for high blood pressure
