Diagnosed With A Paraesophageal Hiatal Hernia

My grandaughter who is three and a half months old was diagnosed with a paraesophageal hiatal hernia. The repair was done a little over a week ago. Now, she will not take a bottle, is fed through a tube in her stomach, and is now gagging and acting like she's in distress. My daughter doesn't know what to do.

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

In the immediate post operative period the babies are usually feed through nasogastric tube. Sometimes the repair may be too tight so that would lead on to gagging.
It should settle down in another wek.
