Diagnosed With PCOS. Stopped Having Pill After Bad Reaction. Getting Irregular Periods. How To Rectify This Problem?

I have been diagnosed with pcos. It was recommended that I go on the pill which I tried and had a bad reaction to, and after reading more about the effects of the pill with pcos I decided not to stay on it. I have changed the way I eat and gotten down to a healthy weight. I've started having periods but not regular. I had one, then another one 6 weeks later, and then another one 6 weeks later. after the last one (they have all been around 8 days long) it stopped for 3 days and has now started again. I occasionally use marijuana - after smoking last night my period started within one hour of smoking. Do you have some advice for me?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Poly cystic ovary disease presents with symptoms like irregular menstrual cycles, anovulation, insulin resistance etc due to hormonal imbalance.
By maintaing the ideal weight, healthy dietary habits and exercise schedule, the hormonal imbalance can be corrected to some extent.
So, you can continue your dietary habits and try to maintain ideal weight.
Marijuna can lead to irregular periods by affecting the hormonal levels.

So, that be one cause for your irregular bleeding.
If the bleeding continues or repeats, better to consult gynecologist once, get evaluated and take tablets to control the bleeding.
Better to avoid usage of marijuna to prevent these episodes in future.
Take care.
