Diagnosed With PCOS, Fallopian Tubes Blocked At Distal End, Got Miscarriage. Shall I Do A Laproscopy Before Going For An IVF?

Hi Doctor, I am 30 years old, diagnosed with PCOS and both the Fallopian tubes blocked at distal end. I am TTC since last three years and around a year back, we tried IVF and was successful but after four and half months I had a miscarriage. Doctors did various test to find out the reason , but were unsuccessful to detect the reason, since everything was fine. Only option they gave me is to go for IVF with PGD this time. As they believe chromosomal abnormality could be reason of this miscarriage. However I want to know could hydrosalpinx (as my fallopian tubes blocked at distal end) be the reason of this. Shall do a laproscopy before going for an IVF

Ofcourse not!

Whatever you are thinking is not the reason for your miscarriage. The reason for your miscarriage however, may be the chromosomal abnormalities or could be single gene defect or anything else also might be a endocrinal disbalance ("You are already suffering from PCOS").

My opinion say's here that you need a consultation from a GENETICIST. Geneticist helps you in tracking genetic abnormality related with you as said above it could be anything like a chromosomal abnormality, or might be a single gene disorder etc..

Chromosomal abnormalities could be identified with the help of their test called as karyotyping ... as you have not mentioned here that whether your gynecologist has got it done for both of you and your husband or not ? again the test have its own limitations. Very small aberrations could not be detected by the only test.. so again it is a wastage.. hence, geneticist after assessment of both of you may suggest you for the appropriate test... this may save your time and pain in next pregnancy.. if the aberration is forming newly due to your advance maternal age then such pregnancies could be get restricted .. again you can go for a Preimplantation or for Preconceptional diagnosis for the better and sure outcome of your pregnancy.. else a small mistake may again lead to abortion and the whole money spent for IVF get wasted with the pains of injections and mental disturbance absolutely free! free!! free!!!

Jokes apart will it be acceptable to you??? secondly I think you should go to an ayurvedic consultant nearby to your place .. the blocked tubes could be opened with proper medicine and panchakarma with in a small time say 3 to 6 months.. and yes you could conceive naturally.. however the details has to be assessed first... even if you dont want to wait and would like to go for an IVF then ask your ayurvedic doctor . Doctor can give you such medicines which may increase standards of your body and can avoid of suffering from forming a new chromosomal abnormality through the medicines described in RASAYAN KARMA CHIKITSA in classical texts of Ayurved.

So, as per my Advice first seek and Advice from a Geneticist, incase if nothing abnormal then get a consultation from an Endocrinologist and then could see to an Ayurvedacharya and then go to your Obstetrician.. This will not only save your time and money but will also protect you from the huge mental dissatisfaction and pains from the complete process of IVF.

Best of Luck!!!
