Diagnosed With GD

I am 30 weeks pregnant and diagnosed with GD. I am following diet and have most of the readings under control. If I have a snack (1carb choice ) and have dinner with in 1hr 30min then my sugar level is 146(1hr after dinner). Is it because of not timing properly and do I need to go on insulin?

Gestational diabetes is a common entity: pregnancy causes stress, physically as well as mentally and stress causes diabetes; moreover the hormonal alterations in pregnancy do affect the cells' sensitivity to insulin. Do not worry much about your sugar levels, just leave that to your doctor - he/she is competent enough to decide whether you need to switch to insulin or not.
