Diabetic, Suffering From Numbness And Swelling In The Right Foot, Infection In Fingers. Is There Any Cure?

Hello,I am a 49 year old female with type 2 diabetes and Ankylosing Spondylitis.The past few weeks I have shooting pains in my hands, fingers and feet..with numbness and swelling in the right foot mainly.Also I have infections starting often on the sides of my fingers (in the edges of the nails) which are so painful that its hard to explain.My diabetes I thought was well controlled but these symptoms are starting to worry me a lot.Have you got any suggestions please..Susan

Hello,

Uncontrolled diabetics are prone for infection.

Control the infection with antibiotics and blood sugar.

Secondly rule out diabetic neuropathy and nerve compression due to Ankylosing Spondylitis which may be causing the symptoms.

MRI of the spine may be helpful.
