Depression, Had Migraine, Weight Gain, Drowsiness, Dry Mouth. Taking Nexit And Sibelium. What Can Be Done?

Hello Dr..
My wife is taking Nexito for last 7 years for Emotional disorder and depression. She started with Nexito-20mg then slowly decreased the dosge Nexito-10mg then Nexito-5 as per Dr suggession. She had Migrane also. For that she was taking Inderal-10mg. But recently she was facing some other form of Migrane during ladies period cycle. So as per another dr suggession we have changed the medicine from Inderal10 to Sebelium-10mg along with Nexito-10mg. The problem of migrame got resolved but she is geting lot of other side effect like... Drowsiness, weight gain, depression, dry mouth etc... I am not sure the reason... I hav ejust sopped the Sebelium-10 for last 2 days.. Could yo please avise on this...

Welcome to HCM

Nexito is a SSRI drug and it is a good anti anxiety and anti depressant drug. Sibellium consists of Flunarizine and it is having some H1 antihistaminic effect also which is causing sedation, dry mouth, weight gain etc side effects. If the side effects are really intolerable then please consult her psychiatrist for change of drug or adjustments of doses. You can consult to for Inderal again and to increase its dose to 20 mg per day. This will control the increased severity during periods.
