DO I Have High Cholesterol ?

I m 18 years old- 5 2 111 pounds. I have a low salt diet already due to an inner ear disorder- I don t eat a lot of fatty foods or anything of that nature and in our family, you have high cholesterol if you are overweight . What the hell is up with this ? I m sitting here crying right now I m tiny and I eat healthy. Please help. I eat mostly organic. I don t drink or smoke or do anything bad to my body. Oh and I refuse to take meds for it.

I doubt your doctor is stupid, but he may not be tactful. To assess what is going on you really need to know the full lipid profile and most particularly the Cholesterol/HDL ratio. Some people have a raised total cholesterol but the ratio means they are not at risk. Try and find out more detail!
