Could Thyroid Effect Potassium Levels?

Recently my potassium has been checked twice, ( the first time in routine check up, the second time in a follow up to a high potassium reading. Both times it was 5.5. I was also told that my thyroid was bad and prescribed medication for it. I was wondering if my thyroid was a factor in my potassium being higher?

Thyroid doed not affect potassium level much. And 5.5 is not much higher and you don't required treatment for potassium level 5.5. The treatment for thyroid disorders is according to your t3, t4 , and TSH level. So you should go for thyroid function test.
