Could The Recommended Hormone Level Check Due To Sonogram Showing 6 Weeks Without Heartbeat?

Hi, I went to my doctor visit and she checked me and said i was feeling about 8 weeks and did the whole pap smear thing. And then I went for the sonogram a day later and it measured 6 weeks and some odd days. On the sonogram it showed no heartbeat and none to be heard or even seen. The doctor then told me i was needing to do hormone level checks next monday and wednesday to see if it was rising or dropping. I was curious on if the heartbeat is just cause it's possibly i'm earlier than what i thought, which was 8 weeks and earlier than sonogram showed which is 6 weeks.

Its better to do hormone level(serum hcg level) which doubles in 2 days in live intrauterine pregnancy. In abnormal pregnancy (missed abortion) hcg level decreases.Otherwise you have to wait for 1 week to see changes in ultrasound.Usually heart sound can be seen at 6 weeks in USG.
