Could The Rash On The Chest And Back Be Due To Lichen Planus?

Hi I recently had a biopsy as I had a rash on my chest & back for nearly a year, the results came back showing it could be two different conditions. First was lichen planus for which I have been prescribed a steroid cream, the second was I could have lupas but not confirmed. I have to go back to the hospital in a month but since my last visit I have been getting other symptoms, swollen ankles, severe pain in one of my knees, I am now on strong pain killers but if I do not take them regularly the pain is really bad. Now my urine has started to smell strongly of amonia, I,m tired all the time and gaining weight.

Hi.
As per your case history you may be having lichen planus rash increased due to the pain killers.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid taking painkillers. Take a paracetamol for pain as it is safer medicine.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral levamisole, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
