Could The Pain Underneath My Rib Cage Caused Due To A Pulled Muscle?

I believe I pulled a muscle underneath my right side rib cage about a month ago and the pain is not getting any better, I have pain when standing from sitting position and pain when lying down or rolling over. Could this be a pulled muscle or something else? And how can I get rid of the pain?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the discomfort is related to a strained muscle particularly if you find it is worse in moving in particular directions.

You may consider the use of an anti inflammatory pain killer provided you have no history of allergic reactions. Examples would be ibuprofen, cataflam, aspirin, naproxen, celebrex

In addition a muscle relaxant used for a few days would also be helpful. This would require a prescription from your doctor.

I hope this helps
