Could Taking Chantix Triggers Multiple Sclerosis For A Diabetic?

I have diabetes and have many similar symptoms of ms. My doctor recommended testing for ms a couple of years ago due to numbness in my chest area (numbness in my feet as well at same time). Chest numbness went away in a week and I have been treating my feet thinking it was from the diabetes. I took chantix a few months ago and had to stop due to blurred vision. Could chantix (being neurological medicine) have triggered ms. I know you can't diagnose me, but curious if this has happened to a anyone else.

Hi,

I have gone through your query. Symptoms you have mentioned are suggestive of Diabetic Neuropathy rather than MS. Chantix is usually given for cessation of smoking. No effect on heart is seen till now by clinical trials of Chantix.
For Numbness in feet, Gabapentin can be taken. Regular monitoring of your blood sugar and diabetic diet is a must. I suggest you to go for blood test for HbA1c with consultation of local diabetologist.

Do consider a positive feedback as a credit to my work. Let me know if you have any further questions.
