Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Herpes gets transmitted by direct Or intimate contact.
Unprotected oral sex is a risk factor for transmission of herpes virus; if one of the partners is infected transmission is possible.
In this particular case, if your sexual partner carries
genital herpes then you could have acquired oro-labial herpes from this particular oral sexual act.
Protected vaginal sex is not 100% safe in terms of risk of transmission of herpes because a condom covers only the shaft of the penis and therefore leaves a lot of area exposed to direct contact with the infected surface, during sexual intercourse.
However, if your sexual partner had only oro-labial herpes then most likely you would be safe.
Nonetheless, I suggest you to get yourself tested at appropriate interval. Testing for herpes by
blood test can be performed earliest at 2 weeks.
Moreover, If you notice any erosions or sores on the labial Or genital mucosa you must get yourself checked with a venereologist.
