Could Getting Bruises And Feeling Tired Easily Be Caused By Diabetics?

My blood platelet count is 154 - it was 157, then 159 - it's clearly dropping over the last year or so. I'm easily fatigued and bruise easy and think maybe diabetes ? A1c is 5.3 and fasting glucose is 4.5 - I don't feel great - can you help . ."? Thanks coreylee

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

i think your diabetes is very well controlled, maybe too well controlled. are you sure you are not developing hypoglycemia. because that could cause the feeling of weakness too.

i would also suggest you have you kft, lipid profile and vitamin D levels checked. abnormality of these can cause problem too.

i would also like to know what medicines you are taking. lots of medicines diabetic take can cause that. if you happen to be on stating, it can cause weakness too

make sure you have lots of fluids. orthostatic hypotension is common in diabetics

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
