Could A Herniated Disc Cause Buttocks Pain And Feet Numbness?

Am suffering from pain right from my right buttocks till the toes. i feel numbness in my right feet aswell. Some 6 month's back i was said by an ortho that i've bulged disk [ or do u call it herniated disk ?].At present am totally on bed rest. Ofcourse on some steriod's which our family doc has put me on. Inspite of 15days of bed rest n medication's there seems to be a very small progress. Am i going on the right trac ??. Will this rest n some therapies help me come out of this unbearable pain. Pls advice
