I was diagnosed with hashimoto s thyroiditis is 2009 when I was using the birth control Nuvaring. I soon after stopped becasue we were wanting to have a baby. Well at my six week check up post baby I had Mirena inserted which was a year ago. Two weeks ago I had it taken out becasue infection and started the Nuvaring again. Since I started the Nuvaring again I have been so tired everyday and the past two days my throat has felt kind of swollen on the inside or irritated and now I am horse. I read that estrogen can interfere with the thyroid and I might need to go to a progestin only birth control. Any suggestions?
