Child With Pain Under Rib And Having Epilepsy. Are These Related?

hi my 4 year old keeps getting a pain on his side just under the bottom of rib cage it comes and goes. any ideas on what it can be. he has eppilepsy and hasnt had a fit for months dont think it will have anything to do with that, but theres no proof of eppilepsy in any scans thats what the hospital think the seizers are

Hi,
Since your son is suffering from epilepsy most probably he would be on some long term antiepileptic medication.These medication when used for a long time sometimes makes the bones weak (osteoporotic).Discuss with his docter about these issue maybe he would prescribe some Calcium supplements .
Epilepsy is an abnormality in the electrical activity of brain so CT or MRI may come normal .EEG is the better choice of investigation when the scans are negative.
