Child With High Fever, Cough. Prescribed With Nupod, Delcon And Kofanest. History Of Pure Red Cell Aplasia. On Steroids. Are These Medications Safe?

GOOD EVENING my son is 20 months old he is having a high grade fever (103 f) and having a mild cough . Dr advised him syp Nupod 100 2.5ml BD, syp Delcon2.5ml TDS, kofanest2.5ml TDS and syp Nobel plus 5ml sos. His weight 9 kg. he is known case of PRCA ( pure red cell aplasia ) hi is on steroid therapy . Sir i want to know is these medicine is safe for him.

Patients on steroid are high risk for infection… so often doctors start such medicines including antibiotic. In givem situation this therapy may be appropriate as first line for fever. The treatment will be more specific with recent investigations like blood counts.
