i was cleaning my daughter's ear today, then sunddenly she cried, saying it hurts then it bled but i didn't waste any time and took her to the doctor but unfortunately there was no ear specialist hwere we went, but there was a opthalmologist who checked her up and gave her onoflox ear drops, and a oral antiboitic, she said that there's blood blocking my daughter's eardrums that she couldn't see what's going on in there and ask me to come back in a week, my question is what could be the damage to her ear and what are the symptoms that i should be worried about? please help im really worried..

Hi,

Firstly, you should never try cleaning the ears yourself or for someone. There is a natural mechanism for the wax to go away and if you tamper the cycle of flow, there could be wax impacted in ear.

You may have hurt her ear canal, which could have caused the bleeding. In an unlikely event, you may have gone up to the drum (unlikely). You need to visit an ENT as he should examine the ear.

Meanwhile continue drops and antibiotics; do not allow water to enter the ears.

Sreenivasan
