Child Treated For Dehydration. Now Loose Stools, On Amikacin Inj With Metrogyl & Monocef Syrups. Suggestion
Dear Doctor.. My daughter (1 yr and 2 months) was admitted in hospital for dehydration and discharged now The stool consistency was better when we got discharged ... however since a few hours back, she is having loose stools agains.... watery and intermittent flows.. doctor had prescribed amikacin inj for 3 more days with metrogyl & monocef syrups twice a day.. she is still very fragile
Hi ! Loose stools in this age group usually takes a long time to recover. You are already been given the medicines. The only thing in such cases is that the child should not start vomiting, and the intake should be sufficient to avoid dehydration. However, if the symptoms persists for longer, then you may have to get her reviewed by the treating doctor who may go for a repeat stool culture and sensitivity test. Wishing her an early revovery.
