Child On Breast Feeding And Cerelac. Had Urine Infection And Got Cured. Giving Water With Jeera Powder. Started Frequent Urination And Passing Green Stool

Dear doctor My son is a 6 months old boy who is on breast feeding and CERELAC (one tea spoon powder with milk) once in a day. couple of weeks back he suffered with urine infection but got it cured under the supervision of a local med. He is doing good now. We started giving him small amounts of water with Jeera powder. from last 2 or 3 days, he is passing urine very frequently (20-25 times in a day) but he is passing green stolls once/twice in a day. He is expressing discomfort but with some cuddling he is getting OK. He is having his milk and CERELAC normally. Is there anything that I should be bothered about?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello parent
I am not against any company. All tin foods are called formula feeds, because as a formula cannot be changed so is the case with formula feeding. Kindly go through the instruction given outside the box and follow it. If the child is not taking that amount of formula feeding, I think we have to think of alternatives, of which there are several in our country
.Regarding urine infection I hope the culture was positive with a colony count of more than 100,000 per ml . All other results we have to take it as presumed urine infection and not confirmed infection.
Regarding frequent urine:
If you are giving dilute feeds he will pass frequent urine. For example the formula you have mentioned have to be mixed, for each scoop, exactly with 25 ml of water. if you are going to give dilute formula the child will pass frequently.
At any age urine infection recurrence is possible. Give the urine test in a dependable lab. Ask them to do urine microscopy in a uncentrifuged specimen. If it is showing pus cells, it is better go for detailed investigation.
Cry and discomfort before passing urine is normal
6 months , I presume your son has completed 180 days. If not wait for end of 6 months and then start your top feeds.
Gradually mother feeding can be stopped during night times ( 11pm to 5 am)
With regards
