Child Have Severe Pain Which Couldn't Be Diagnosed
HI my grandson who is nearly 10 is complaining of gut pain. He rolls up in a ball and sleeps or rests for hours. He doesn't want to eat when he is in pain. He has had it on and off for about 8 years. Dr says there is nothing wrong. Been in hospital for the pain. They say there is nothing wrong again. He misses a lot of school and is not faking as he is a scholar and loves learning and going to school. I think he may be celiac. His mum is at a loss as to what to do. Please lead us in the right direction for it is horrible to see him in pain so much.
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. Probably it is a case of Amoebic colitis,a chronic disease, gives rise to intermitent colicky type of pain for a prolonged period unless treated. Better to give flagyl under your doctor's guidance. If you think it is celiac disease, avoid wheat and wheat products and see whether he is free from pain. but celiac disease is associated with chronic diarrhea. ou may give some antispasmodic drugs like cyclopam for temporary relief of pain. Hope this answer will serve your purpose Please feel free to ask any more queries if required Take care Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam MD;DCH Associate professor of pediatrics
