Child Has Recurrent Fever, Cold, Cough. Safe To Give Cefixime Regularly?

Hi sir ,
my son is of 1 and half year old and he regulary falls sick suffers from fever (high) , cold and cough
I am an employee so i use to keep my child in care centre , i dont know it might be one of the reason for my son to become sick often. I am giving him cefixime antibiotic whenever he becomes ill...Is it safe to give that antibiotic regularly ...and i use to give nebulisation with levolin respules ...but even then it takes 3 to 5 days for his recovery.
3months back he got hospitilised for 4days with very high fever of 105degress and nose block where he was unable to breath properly due to swelling of adenoid glands..Whenever he catches cold this nose block becomes common and once in a month he use to fall sick...I am very much worried about him and i think he is having very less resistance and immunity power.
And as of now he only got 6 teeth , is that ok or is there any deficiency...
Coming to his food habits he is very naughty and doesnot eat food fastly and like to eat all junk food...im giving him nutrilite (amway )from last 2 months ....

Please suggest me some health tips and medicines so that it helps to improve his health and immunity..
and also suggest me the diet that i have to give him for improving his health and immunity

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

It is very common for children of this age to have recurrent upper respiratory tract infection as they develop their immunity. Most of them are viral in origin and there is no need of giving any antibiotic. Hence, I would not suggest that you do not give your son cefixime every time he has an infection. A good nutritious diet and good supplements are all that your son requires. Try to avoid junk foods.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son all the best.
