Child Has Fever With Yellow Discharge From Right Eye, Has Headaches, Leg Aches. Given Acimetophen. What Else ?
My daughter is 3 and a half. She has had a fever that runs between 99 and 101.7 for two days. She hss yellowish discharge coming out of her right eye, more so when she wakes up from her sleep. She has also been complaining of headaches, leg aches, and being tired. What can I do for her. I have been giving her acimetophen about every four hour in the evenings when she seems to feel the worst.
Discharge from the eye could be because of infection. There could be other causes for discharge from the eye. A child with viral cold can also have discharge from the eye.
Treatment for fever depends on the cause of the fever.
Is there any cough or burning urination or increased frequency of urination or sore throat etc.? These symptoms can give a clue to the cause of that fever which could be respiratory or urinary infection etc.
Continue to ask further queries. Hope this helps. Take care.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Muco purulent conjuctivitis is the main reason of yellowish discharge from eyes early in the morning. Fever may be due to infection. Fever causes leg cramps, headache , general weakness. Consult a paediatrician and get his opinion for fever. Good luck. Dr. HET
