Hi,

Thank you for your query.

It is very common for children of this age to get repeated attacks of upper respiratory tract infection. The reason is that the child is developing his immunity which is only going to develop if he contracts the infection. Secondly, the child is going to a school where he is getting exposed to different organisms. Most of the time you will have to give him a cough syrup but three-four times in a year he may require antibiotics to take care of the infection.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.

Regards,

Hello doctor i have a friend here who is suffering from a very severe case of dust allergy. He s had his tonsils removed when he was a child and that proved to be a mistake as his doctor says. When he was 11 years old, he suffered an allergic attack and he was hospitalised. He lay in coma for 2 days. His doctor says that he has extremely low resistance and another attack like that may prove fatal. Now he is 19 years old. He gets very high fever frequently, like once in 2 weeks, and a bad cold almost every day. He gets small attacks often. These are seemingly caused by nothing, they are always sudden. He can t stand in even a mild dusty place without coughing continously for 30 minutes. He has a high eosinophil count of 13% and his doctor has told he cannot be cured unless he builds his resistance. He s been a weak chld since birth. He takes evening walks and eats fruits to improve his resistance. He absolutely refuses to take up meditation as he believs its of no use, and nothing can cure him. I get scared now everytime he gets an attack cos he speaks like it might be his last breath. Please help.

Hello Doctor, My daughter is 9 1/2 years old, from the age of 2 years she is been allergic to cold. She always breathes through mouth and her nostrils get blocked. When we force her to close her mouth and breath through nose she starts coughing and has continuous sneezing and running nose. We have approached many clinics, but the medicine provided was only nozil drops, cough cyrups lik biodryl, relent, quiet and sinarest. Due to which she is unable to concentrate on her studies and we are worried about her future and her health. Some doctors told that she will be fine when she is 12 years old, but some doctors told that there is nerve growth in her nose, which needs to be operated. Please advise

For years Ive been bloated, gassy and cramped. I cant gain weight. I wake up with gas and bad taste in my mouth. I have no sinus infections but I always have bad breath ( I brush and floss daily). Ive done almost every test possible and there all clear. My doctor says its IBS and there's nothing he can do, to help (which I find hard to believe). Im a 43 yr old male 5' 11" and 140lbs.
I calculated my diet at approx. 2800-3000 calories a day. My job is not physically demanding and Ive stopped weight training.
Any help would be just great, thanks.
