Child. Recurring High Fever, Blocked Nose And Sore Throat. Prescribed Clamp Forte. Starting Medication Immidiately Advised?
Hi my daughter is 10 yrs old weight 35 kgs.....since yesterday she is suffering from high fever blocked nose and sore throat....we have been giving her crocin but the fever subsides just for 2 hrs and again it rises ....I have consulted the doctor she asked me to stat with clamp forte ...I have a query should I start that medicine now or wait ...cas her fever goes high till 103.
Clamp Forte is an antibiotic and will not bring down the temperature. It shall act only if there is a bacterial infection which is sensitive to the antibiotic and the effect will be evident in 48-72 hours of starting the antibiotic. Till then the temperature will have to be brought down by an antipyretic like Crocin.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
