Good afternoon sir my daughter having fever for last 16 days and in between she got admitted in hospital also. There she was OK and got discharged. But after 2 days again she had fever and it is going up to 101°F. Please guide me sir so that correct treatment is done and at the time of discharge doctors established it as clinical malaria . hello dear,
thanks for your query at health care magic,
malaria will have high grade fever with chills and rigors, with sweating after fever coming down. but malaria can present atypically without above mentioned symptoms some times.
is diagnosis of malaria established on labarotary data or clinical diagnosis?
if lab data and clinically malaria you can start child on antimalarial drugs based on sensitivity of malarial parasite to drugs in your locality.
a simple blood test like blood film examination under microscope can rule out malaria. if in doubt go for that test.
