Chest Pain Over 2 Years, Irregular Beating, Burping. Suggested As Anxiety, Tried Medication. Advice?
I have been having chest pains for over 2 years and have had no answers to what is causing it. I have episodes on average 4 times a week where I panic and believe I am having a heart attack . my doctor has said it is anxiety but I don't believe it is , I have tried medication and several techniques to deal with anxiety but nothing has worked . the pain is in the left hand side of my chest .it can be a sharp discomfort in the chest and an irregular beating of my heart ,also in the last 6 months I have been burping excessively and am having to stick my fingers down my throat to get wind up I don't know if this is related
As per your description all this may be attributed to the diagnosis you are telling. But before that have a re look your ECG, and if cause of irregular beating is is not found better go for holter. Cardiac causes are very common to lead to all these symptoms. If all this turns out to be normal, go for a review by gastro-enterlogist, you may require UGI endoscopy. For your anxiety management take help from a psychiatrist. Have a positive attitude and accept the advice of your treating physician.
