Charley Horses In Leg, Extereme Thirst, Frequent Urination, Dry Mouth. Very High Blood Sugar Levels. What To Do?

In the last two months I've started having charley horses in my leg. Then later on I've been extremely thirsty, even getting up every couple of hours to urinate or drink water extremely dry mouth. About 2 weeks ago I realized I had lost 50 pounds in these two mints ago and for a while when I had a BM it had sever pain to the left under belly button that pain lasted about a week but now has went away. After doing research online I figured it was diabetic. Just now I tested my blood sugar and it is at 564 what should I do?

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

Your symptoms and blood sugar levels are typical of diabetes.

Your blood sugar is dangerously high and, if treatment is not started immediately, you are likely to lapse into diabetic ketoacidosis- a serious complication of untreated diabetes.

Contact your doctor IMMEDIATELY so that he can order certain investigations on priority basis, to detect diabetic ketoacidosis. In that event, you will have to hospitalized and treated aggressively.

If there is no evidence of ketoacidosis, the doctor will start with anti-diabetic treatment forthwith.
