Brief Answer:
One should visit ER immediately.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.

In such a case there is need for immediate need for-
- Detailed physical examination.
- Urine ketone examination.
For that one has to discontinue travelling and go to ER immediately.

If urine ketone present then there may be need for further evaluation like
- Complete Blood Count.
- Blood Gas Analysis.
- Renal Function Test including urea, creatinine, electrolytes.
- HbA1c.
Depending upon presence of ketones and extent of acidosis on blood gas analysis there may be need for hospitalization and intravenous insulin.

In case of diabetic ketoacidosis insulin is the only option (no other medicines are effective) and in that case travelling is not advisable.

In case urine ketones absent depending upon physical examination subcutaneous insulin with alteration in current medicines may be suggested.

So visit ER immediately till that time drink adequate water.

Hope this helps you.
